MoU signed to boost agricultural research, education

In a significant move aimed at bolstering agricultural research and education in the region, the ICAR Research Complex for North East Hill Region (ICAR-RC for NEHR) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three prominent academic and research institutes in Manipur.
The signing ceremony took place today at the Loktak Farmers Hostel of the ICAR-RC for NEHR, Manipur Centre, in Lamphelpat, Imphal.
The three partner institutes are Manipur University, Canchipur; Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Agricultural Sciences (PDDUIAS), Utlou; and South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Langjing Achouba.

The collaboration is expected to significantly expand research opportunities for students and strengthen capacity-building initiatives within the frontier areas of agricultural sciences.
During the, event, several key figures emphasized the importance and potential impact of this agreement.
Prof H S Shekhar Sharma, Director of SAIRAM, highlighted that the MoU will enhance research opportunities and capacity building in agricultural sciences.
Dr RK Imotomba Singh, Director of PDDUIAS, noted the institute's large student body and the need for quality education and innovative research in emerging science fields.
Dr Ch Basudha Devi, Head of ICAR Manipur Centre, stated that students and researchers will benefit greatly from the existing agreement, gaining access to research work in agri and allied science, student guidance, professional training, and advanced laboratory resources.
Dr Basudha further stressed the importance of periodically reviewing the progress and achievements of the MoU to maximize the benefits of this collaborative agreement.
