Meira Shang inaugurated at Langthabal

Imphal, November 18 2024: Dr Laishram Deben, former Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), on Monday inaugurated a "Meira Shang" at Langthabal Mantrikhong Lairam Keithel, Imphal.

The inaugural function was attended by Regional College, Economics Department, Assistant Professor Abujam Romen; Langthabal Naorem Leikai Gram Panchayat, Pradhan, Aheibam Sunanda; YALLA president, Khumbongmayum Chourajit; and Langthabal Mantrikhong Lairam Keithel Meira Paibi president, Salam Premabati among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Deben reiterated the countless contributions of the Meira Paibis in important issues of the State.

He asserted that apart from taking an active role in preventing anti-social activities in the localities, Meira Paibis have been in the forefront against human rights violations in Manipur.

Dr Deben also called upon all to work earnestly to retain the true identity of Meira Paibis who are known for their selfless service for the welfare of all without any vested interests.
