Jojo Robertson leads mass tree plantation drive in Kamjong village

Kamjong, July 18 2026: Environmental activist Jojo Robertson on Saturday organised a mass tree plantation drive at Chongdan village in Kamjong districtaspartofhisongoing campaign to promote environmental awareness and conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, Jojo Robertson said that large-scale tree plantation and forest conservation are essential to combat global warming and the changing patterns of rainfall and climate.

He stressed that protecting the environment requires collective participation and expressed gratitude to the residents of Chongdan Village for their wholehearted support to the initiative.

Appreciating the campaign, Chongdan Village headman Phungmi Siro described Jojo's efforts as commendable and said safeguarding the environment is a shared responsibility to ensure a better future for coming generations.

The plantation drive began early in the morning, during which around 600 saplings were planted in and around the village, reinforcing the community's commitment to environmental conservation and ecological sustainability.
