Awareness on 'WildLife Management and Rescue Technique' held at Jiribam

Jiribam, August 17 2025: A one-day awareness programme on "WildLife Management & Rescue Technique" was held today at Lalpani Bazar, Jiribam, organised by the District Forest Division Jiribam.

Th awareness programme was attended by DFO Jiribam Elangbam Nirmala; Honorary WildLife Warden H Rajen Singh; Veterinary Hospital Jiribam Deputy Director Dr H Usharani Devi; District Hospital Jiribam DIO Dr Sudip Das; and Peoples' for Animal Manipur Trustee, Lourembam Bishwajit, among others.

Speaking at the event, DFO Jiribam Elangbam Nirmala highlighted that Jiribam District is blessed with rich wildlife and diverse bird species, stressing that it is a shared responsibility to conserve and protect them.

She further warned that anyone attempting to capture or harm wildlife would face strict punishment under the law.

A practical demonstration was also conducted on how to safely rescue wildlife, including snakes by the members of Peoples' for Animals Manipur to enhance community awareness on wildlife conservation.
