The 48-hour "Tech-sprint Manipur 1.0 Hackathon", organised by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur, concluded today with participants showcasing innovative Al-based prototypes and modules.
The 48-hour Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hackathon, organised in collaboration with the Manipur State Information Technology Society and Manipur Technology Innovation, Imphal, aimed to identify, nurture, and empower promising AI talent among students and entrepreneurs, paving the way for Manipur's representation at national-level technology platforms.
The hackathon, held at the IT Special Economic Zone complex in Mantripukhri, focused on leveraging AI to enhance Government work and its impact on society, including startups.
Around 150 students from various institutes, including NIT, IIT, and HIT, participated in the event, forming 62 teams to develop AI models addressing diverse challenges.
The top three teams were selected based on their AI models, with Team Yai Dynamics securing first place for their Grievance Portal, Team MIM's Landslide Early Warning System taking second place, and Team CHDMOD 777's AI-Based Electricity Theft and Revenue Loss Intelligence System for Manipur winning third place.
The Star Performer awards went to Team Leihao and Romio Ningombam.
The winners will represent Manipur at the national level, competing with top teams from across India.
