MAYOL plans short film competition on election practices

Imphal, May 15 2026:
Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) is organising a short film competition as part of its campaign "Anouba Langongi Leingaklon", said its president Koijam Suresh.
Speaking to reporters at the organisation's office at Pureiromba Khongnangmakhong, Imphal today, Suresh said the competition is aimed at spreading awareness about the need for clean and fair elections to bring about positive changes in the governance.
The competition will be held in three categories.
The first category will invite short films that highlight practices of unfair election campaigns.
The second category will invite films that highlight negative impacts of voters choosing candidates for personal gain.
The third category will invite films that highlight the significance of voting consciously and choosing the right candidates, Suresh said.
The first prize will carry a cash award of Rs 50,000, second price-Rs 40,000 and 3rd prize-Rs 30,000 .
Films which secure the 4th and 5th positions will be awarded Rs 10,000 each, Suresh said.
The forms for the competition will be available from May 16 .
The forms may be had from the office of the MAYOL.
It will also be made available on Facebook and over WhatsApp (7629003500), Suresh said.
The last date of submission of forms will be May 31 (till 5pm) .
The short films must be submitted by 5 pm of July 31 .
The duration of the films must be between 10-15 minutes.
