Convergence mela begins in Kakching

Kakching, October 13 2025: A convergence mela was held today at Ebhudou Mayangngamba Laibung, Thongjao Makha Leikai, Waikhong Gram Panchayat organised by Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Kakching under the supervision of District Administration Kakching and in collaboration with Village Level F ederations.

The VLFs involved in organising the mela include Thounafabi VLF, Meeitei Leima VLF, Yangdong Women VLF, Hingminnashi VLF, Thouna Leibi VLF, Ima Thumkhong Lairembi VLF, Lamyanbi VLF and Shintha Ngambi VLF.

Representatives from various departments including District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Kakching, District Health Society, Forest Department, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Fishery, SDCs along with Punjab National Bank attended the mela.

Facilities for creation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) card, NCD screening for hypertension, diabetes, birth certificates, CMHT among others were provided.

Also, on-the-spot submission for various pension schemes, including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension and Disability Pension, were facilitated.

The convergence mela will continue across Kakching district at various locations.

Tomorrow it will be held at Keithel Lampak Community Hall.

Keirak Makha Leikai, Keirak Gram Panchayat (GP); at Wangoo Laipham Panchayat Ghar in Wangoo GP on October 16 and at Wabagai Higher Secondary School in Wabagai GP on October 18.For Uchiwa GP, the mela will be held on October 27 at Heibong Makhong Ground; on October 28 at Langmeidong Panchayat Ghar Community Hall, Langmeidong GP and it will conclude on October 30 at Hiyanglam Lai Panganba Market Shed, Hiyanglam GP .
