Nagaland HM shows serious concern on influx of illegal migrants

Nagaland Home minister, Y.Patton expressed serious concern over the influx of illegal immigrants to Nagaland, particularly Dimapur district and stressed on the need to have coordinated efforts from all responsible organizations in order to tackle the issue.
Patton said this after inaugurating the new office building of Commissioner of Police, Dimapur at old SP's Office in Dimapur yesterday.
The Home Minister pointed out that the influx of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were responsible for most of the crimes taking place in the state.
In this regard, the minister called upon the GBs and village councils to indentify and verify new faces in their respective colonies and repo rt to the police and administration, in the event they fail to produce valid documents.
Dimapur being the gateway to Nagaland, the home minister urged upon the uniformed personnel to shoulder the multi-task responsibilities with dedication and sincerity so that peace and tranquillity was maintained in Dimapur.
