Installation of Smart Prepaid Meters for TCSD VII Wangkhei to commence from Sep 15

Imphal, September 12 2025: In continuation of efforts to improve power supply reliability and enhance consumer services, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) is undertaking the installation of Smart Prepaid Meters under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) across the Imphal Electrical Division-III .

As per a release issued by MSPDCL, the installation work is being executed by M/s Sangai Smart Metering Pvt Ltd, the authorized agency selected by MSPDCL.

The installation work in respect of Bamon Leikai and Wangkhei II Feeders under TCSD VII Wangkhei will be commenced from September 15, 2025 onwards.

MSPDCL has urged all consumers under the SubDivision to extend full cooperation to the installation team at the time of execution of the work.

MSPDCL also informed the public that no charges shall be collected from consumers for the installation of smart meters; and during the visit, the installation team shall also distribute pamphlets to spread awareness regarding the smart meter usage, recharge process, and benefits.

Highlighting that the installation team is strictly authorized only for meter installation, MSPDCL urged all the consumers not to assign tpiy other Work to the installation personnel.

Furthermore, MSPDCL encouraged all consumers to use the 'Urja Seva Sangai' App or 'MSPDCL Smart Meter' App to track real-time electricity usage, balance, and recharge status.
