Imphal, May 12 2026: The Superintendent of Traffic Control Police Wing has issued a traffic advisory in connection with the ongoing laying of SPC (Short Panel Concrete) works under the "Construction of Rigid Pavement and Line Drain project for improvement of urban infrastructure in Imphal West" .

SP Chiphang Cecelia Sopemia (MPS) has notified that one side of the carriageway will be closed along the southern side of New Assembly Road and eastern side of Thangmeiband Road (from Watham Leirak to Khoyathong) .

Additionally, to facilitate traffic movement, the opposite sides of the northern side of New Assembly Road and western side of Thangmeiband Road (from Lilasing Khongnangkhong to Khoyathong) will function as double-way roads.

The notification has further instructed all residents, shopkeepers, establishments and the general public are requested not to park vehicles along the above-mentioned double-way road stretches, as any roadside parking will obstruct traffic flow and cause congestion.

Due to these traffic arrangements, the free left turn at Khongnang Ani Karak towards Lilasing Khongnangkhong shall remain blocked and diversion of vehicles may be enforced on need basis, depending on traffic volume.
