Imphal, April 11 2026:
The All Assam Manipuri Students' Union has strongly condemned the killing of two innocent children in a bomb attack at Tronglaobi on April 7 and three unarmed civilians in CRPF firing.
AAMSU has demanded urgent and firm action from the Government to bring those responsible to justice under the law, and to restore peace and security in the region.
In a press release, AAMSU has expressed profound grief and heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of innocent lives, namely O Tomthin Singh (5) and O Yaisana Devi (5 months), in the attack carried out by alleged Kuki militants.
The bomb attack also severely injured the mother of the two children, O Binita Devi, who is currently undergoing medical treatment, said AAMSU.
The student body has unequivocally and strongly condemned such inhumane violence and radical activities of the armed Kuki militants.
"Such cowardly violence against the innocent civilians is an unforgivable crime and a direct assault on the peace, humanity and justice", it asserted.
It also condemned the actions of the CRPF personnel, who allegedly opened fire upon the protesters, leading to the death of three protesters and leaving many others injured.
Such senseless acts of CRPF personnel and use of force against the civilians is absolutely intolerable, declared AAMSU.
The continued failure of the concerned authorities and the State to contain the violence and punish those who spread terror, has further endangered the lives of innocent civilians and raised serious questions about security and accountability.
'Manipur deserves justice, security and dignity', said AAMSU .
AAMSU has conveyed their thoughts and prayers and stood in solidarity with the bereaved families.
