Sixteen students selected for 11th National Yoga Olympiad

Imphal, May 09 2026: The 11th State Level Yoga Olympiad-2026 concluded today at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal.

Organised by the Directorate of Education (School), Manipur, the three-day event resulted in the selection of 16 students who will represent the Manipur Team at the upcoming 11th National Yoga Olympiad.

The national competition is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from June 15 to 18, 2026, under the auspices of NCERT .

The selection spans several categories.

In the Upper Primary Level for boys, Gyaneshor Leitanthem secured the 1st position, followed by Laishram Herison Singh in 2nd, Thiyam Tomba Singh in 3rd, and Labuktonbam Leonel Sharma in 4th.For the girls in the same level, Leimapokpam Victoria Chanu took the top spot, with Irengbam Jenika Devi, Kangujam Malemnganbi Chanu, and Nirota Soram taking the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions respectively.

In the Secondary Level, the boys' category saw Mahesh Irengbam earn first place, followed by Chingakham Thouba Meitei in 2nd, Laikhuram Krishna Singh in 3rd, and Pukhrambam Bony Singh in 4th.The girls' category was led by Leimapokpam Sanathoi Chanu in 1st position, with Valentina Laishram, Phurailatpam Olivia Devi, and Rajkumari Roshni Devi filling the remaining top spots.

Nodal Officer for the Yoga Olympiad, has instructed all selected students to report to the relevant authorities to begin coaching and preparation for the national event Additionally, the Directorate of Education (S) confirmed that four officials, consisting of two males and two females, will be appointed as escort teachers following official approval.
