NIT Manipur hosts academic and student well-being events

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur successfully organised a series of academic, faculty development, and student well-being programmes on February 9, reaffirming the Institute's strong commitment to holistic education, mental well-being, and academic excellence.
The day featured three distinct events - Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on stress management, student mental well-being interactive programme, and book release ceremony.
FDP
The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, NIT Manipur, inaugurated a six-day FDP titled "Stress Management and Productivity Enhancement", scheduled to run until February 14.Sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, the programme saw 50 faculty participants register.
The initiative aimed to equip academicians with practical strategies for effective stress management and productivity enhancement through expert lectures, interactive sessions, and experiential learning modules.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof DVLN Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur; Prof Khumukcham Tomba Singh, Registrar, NIT Manipur; and Deepa Dave, Senior Teacher, Art of Living, Bengaluru, as presidium members.
Interactive Programme
In line with the Ministry of Education (MoE) initiative to promote student mental health, a 1-day interactive programme was organised at the Langol Campus in collaboration with YourDOST.
The session, mentored by expert counsellor and psychologist Antima Jain, saw active participation from more than 100 students.
The programme included stress-relief activities and discussions on real-life anxiety-related challenges, receiving highly positive feedback.
Book Release
A book release ceremony was held at the NIT Manipur's Conference Hall for the book titled "Data Structures Using Python", authored by Prof Khumanthem Manglem Singh.
The event was attended by faculty members, students, and colleagues.
Dignitaries, including the Director and Registrar, highlighted the book's importance in strengthening conceptual clarity and practical understanding for undergraduate & postgraduate students.
