Imphal, August 06 2025: VDF personnel rescued two siblings found wandering at Kanto Sabal area under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West today at around 10.30 am .

According to reports, the VDF intervened because the children, lacking identity cards or other identification means, were initially suspected to be from the Kuki community due to their limited fluency in Manipuri.

The children were given lunch and subsequently handed over to the Officer in Charge of Leimakhong police station ASI Seitinmang for verification.

During verification, the two children were identified as Kiki (8), daughter of Ngai and Yam, and her brother Ngarum (7), both from the Tangkhul community.

Further details about them could not be gathered at the time of filing this report.

The siblings have been reunited with their parents.

According to reports, the children had also made some purchases from a shop at Khurkhul Lamkhai Bazar.
