Imphal, April 05 2026:
MLA of Lamlai Assembly Constituency, Kh Ibomcha, has expressed strong confidence that no political party in India will be able to dislodge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next decade, while asserting that the party is determined to secure not less than 40 seats in the 2027 Manipur Assembly elections.
He made the remarks during the 7th Leaders' Meet held at Umathel Mayai Leikai Lampak, organised by the Seniors Development Committee of BJP Kakching Khunou under the BJP Sugnu Mandal.
The event was attended by former BJP candidate of Sugnu Assembly Constituency and social worker M Binod; BJP Kakching District president Ksh Indubala; BJP Sugnu Mandal president M Nabachandra; caretaker chairperson of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council Kh Leima; along with representatives of Gram Panchayats, Municipal Council and other BJP leaders.
The programme also featured a reception for around 150 families from Kakching Khunou Municipal Council and Waikhong areas who recently joined the BJP from the Indian National Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Kh Ibomcha attributed the BJP's growing popularity to development initiatives undertaken across the country, stating that public support for the party continues to increase steadily.
He asserted that this trend would make it difficult for any political party to challenge the BJP at the national level in the coming years.
Referring to Manipur, he said the party has already initiated several measures to achieve its target of winning at least 40 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He added that BJP Manipur in-charge BL Santosh, along with other national leaders, has been placing special emphasis on strengthening the party organisation in the State.
He acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent ethnic unrest in Manipur had temporarily affected development activities, but expressed confidence that the government would make up for the setbacks in the coming months.
He urged the public to continue placing their trust in both the State and Central governments led by the BJP.
Meanwhile, speaking at the event, M Binod stated that if elected in the forthcoming Assembly elections, he would establish libraries in every locality of Sugnu Assembly Constituency.
He also proposed the construction of a mini sports stadium at Pangaltabi and assured efforts to upgrade medical infrastructure in the constituency with modem facilities, including advanced diagnostic services, along with overall improvement of basic infrastructure.
