District governor visits Rotary Club of Imphal, awards distributed

District governor Dr Kameswar Singh Elangbam officially visited Rotary Club of Imphal and attended the 53rd Foundation Day celebration of the club on October 31, 2025 .
In the morning, Dr Kameswar Singh along with the member of the club visited Punya Children Home, Thangmeiband and handed over eggs and other eatable items such as edible oil, rice, potatoes, dal, onion, milk, sugar, sweet packets, etc for the children under Rotary Egg Bank project Later in the afternoon.
Dr Kameswar attended the Club Assembly of RC Imphal at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.
A regular weekly meeting was also held during which various vocational awards and certificates were distributed.
As part of the programme, prizes for the '50th Rotary-on-the spot painting competition' 2025 were distributed to the winning students.
Senator Okram Memorial Rotary Footballer of the Year Award (sponsored by Okram Sonamani) was handed over to Meisnam Jojo Meitei; the 2nd (Late) The Th Leihaotombi Devi Memorial Artisan of the Year Award (sponsored by Dr Th Sudhiranjan and Dr N.Anita Devi) was given to Pukhrambam Premchandra Singh of Kakching Ningthou Leikai; the 2nd (Late) Chongtham Ongbi Kalahari Devi Memorial Rotary Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (sponsored by Punshiba Chongtham) was conferred on Elangbam Ronald Singh of Ingelei Paper & Print Pvt Ltd.
Two senior citizens K Tomba Singh of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai and W Sushil Kumar Singh of Lairikyengbam Leikai were honoured with Senior Citizen Awards.
Lapel pins for PHF were also handed over to the members by the district governor.
The monthly club bulletin, MANIPADMA (November 2025 issue) was also released during the programme.
Later, the district governor joined members of RC Imphal during the ceremonial cake cutting as a part of observation of its 53rd Foundation Day.
Dr Kameswar Singh praised the club for taking up various community based projects and encouraged the members to continue to serve the society.
He also stressed the need of strengthening the Rotary movement through continued contribution to The Rotary Foundation.
