Environmental Leadership Programme concludes

A two-day Environmental Leadership Programme for Youth organised by Lions Club of Imphal concluded today at the Conference Hall of Standard College, Kongba.
As per a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal, the programme conducted in collaboration with Standard College witnessed enthusiastic participation from 33 students.
On the first day, H Manikumar Singh, past district governor, District 322D spoke on the need for young leaders.
He dwelt on the qualities that a leader should possess in order to motivate his team and achieve success.
In the technical session, Dr T Brajakumar, Director, Environment and Climate Change, Manipur gave a talk on the topic, "Climate Action-Role of Youth" and L Swamikanta.
past president of the Club elaborated on "Role of the youth in reducing pollution" .
A Group Exercise for the participating students was also organised under the guidance of Dr Bonbirdhwaja Akham, Club Service chairperson.
On the final day, the students made group presentations and the best three groups were awarded with cash prizes sponsored by Dr L Ibetombi Devi, Club Environment Committee chairperson.
On successful completion of the programme, the students were declared as "Young Leaders" and presented with saplings.
Dr N Chandrasekhar Singh, Co-ordinator IQAC; H Chandrabala Devi, Assistant Professor; Y Manglem Singh, region chairperson, District 322D; and Prof M Suresh Singh, Principal, Standard College attended the programme as dignitaries.
Moreover, as part of observance of 100 years of "Knights of the Blind" speech by Helen Keller, an Eye Screening Camp was also held at Standard College.
The camp was jointly organised by Lions Club of Imphal and Health Club of Standard College.
Eye check-up was done for about 60 students and faculty of the college.
Thirty used-spectacles were also collected from students and faculty members, which will be used in future Vision related projects.
The event concluded with the screening of a short film on Helen Keller.
