Tengnoupal, December 28 2018:
The Kwatha village authority along with Kwatha villagers have warned to call an indefinite bandh along Imphal Moreh road from January 5, 2019 if the road stretch leading to Kwatha village is not repaired within the deadline.
It also threatened to halt all developmental activities.
This decision was taken unanimously by Kwatha village authority and the villagers during a meeting, conveyed Kwatha village authority chairman to the media persons today.
The road leading to Kwatha, which is located seven kms away from Imphal-Moreh road, has been in a poor condition while the village authorities and the villagers of Kwatha have repeatedly raised concerned regarding the gradual degradation of the road to the State Government.
The village authority chief said that the Works Minister had assured to repair the road leading to Kwatha while PWD Chief Engineer and his staff had also assured, during their visit to Kwatha village, to begin the construction work within December this year.
This utter negligence has compelled the villagers and the village authority to resolve into imposing bandh, he added.
