SSNV Council opposes district reorganisation

The Southern Senapati Naga Village Council, Manipur strongly opposed the move of the Government of Manipur to reorganize districts boundaries, according to a press release signed by the President, Southern Senapati Naga Villages Council, Manipur.
The Village Council based in Kangpokpi, Saitu- Gamphazol and Saikul Sub-Division today aired strong opposition to the formation of the committee for creation of Sadar Hills out of the present Senapati district and merging or joining adjoining valley districts namely Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur districts.
The Council also opposed the constitution of the Committee on Re-organisation of Administrative and Police District Boundary.
The Council upholds and respect the numerous memorandum of understanding signed between the Manipur Government and the Naga Frontal organizations in 1982, 1992, 1996 and 1998 to solve the issue arise in the State the release of the Council also added.
