People of Manipur capable of working the same job as that of non-locals: AMMUC

All Manipur Manpower Upliftment Centre (AMMUC) observed its 12th foundation day at Manipur Pres Club today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mayor IMC L Lokeshor Singh appealed all to work together diligently and to adopt good thoughts with the celebration of AMMUC foundation day.
He appealed to the people to work together towards eradicating unemployment from the.
State and put their efforts in preventing the youth from indulging in drugs and substance abuse as a result of unemployment.
Speaking on the menace created by street vendors in the streets, he conveyed that the street vendors are an unfortunate section of people as they have to be daily wage earners but they violate many laws which in turn causes inconveniences to others.
He said that the authority concerned has deliberated the idea of allowing the street vendors to open their stalls at a specific area but no concrete arrangements have been planned yet.
Meanwhile, general secretary Y Surjit conveyed that a total of 230 labourers registered under AMMUC specializes in transporting goods and essential commodities for women vendors in the market, guarding or providing security for the goods and items, shoe polishing among other works.
He said that the people of Manipur are capable of working the same job or doing the same work as that of a non-local and AMMUC is functioning with an objective to eradicate unemployment by taking up different works for the welfare of the people and the State.
