Bishnupur/Jiribam, May 30 2026:
The Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, 2026, commenced on Saturday in Bishnupur and Jiribam districts, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) beginning door-to-door visits to facilitate voter verification and updating of electoral records.
According to a press note issued by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, enumeration forms have been issued to all 234 designated BLOs for distribution to electors across the district.
The BLOs will visit households from May 30 to June 28 and provide duplicate copies of pre-filled enumeration forms to voters.
Electors have been requested to verify and update details pertaining to themselves and their family members.
Upon completion, one copy of the form will be retained by the BLO, while the duplicate, duly acknowledged, will remain with the elector as an official receipt.
The district administration clarified that no documents will be collected by BLOs during the enumeration phase.
Voters may also download enumeration forms and submit them online through the Election Commission of India's voter portal and the ECINet mobile application.
Electors seeking assistance may contact the toll-free Voter Helpline number 1950 or avail of the "Book a Call with BLO" facility available on the voter portal and ECINet application.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Arvind Hanglem, announced the official launch of the SIR exercise in the district.
Speaking to media persons, he stated that preparatory activities, including training programmes and interactions for election officials, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and BLOs, had been completed in accordance with the timeline prescribed by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur.
He informed that BLOs have already begun visiting households and distributing enumeration forms to electors.
Urging citizens to cooperate with the revision exercise, Arvind appealed to voters to extend full support to BLOs during their visits.
He also called upon political parties and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to assist in ensuring the smooth and successfill conduct of the SIR process in the Jiribam Assembly Constituency.
