Sangeet Academy Kakching enlightens students on Nata Sankirtana & Jagoi

Kakching, March 28 2026: Sangeet Academy Kakching organised a school cultural awareness programme with lecture and demonstration on "Nata Sankirtana (Pung, Eshei) and Jagoi" at Yumbi Macha High School, Kakching NingthouLeikai today.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Notable dignitaries present at the event include Sangeet Academy Kakching secretary Kshetrimayum Nimai Singh; treasurer Kshetrimayum Rajendro Singh; Pung Gurus Naorem Maipak, Kshetrimayum Shantikumar and Yumbi Macha High School Headmistress Yengkhom Premila along with the staff and students of the school.

A team from Sangeet Academy Kakching educated the students about the traditional art forms while Pung Gurus Naorem Maipak and Kshetrimayum Shantikumar presented a showcase of "Dholak Cholom" .

Speaking in this connection, Kshetrimayum Nimai Singh maintained that while students spend most of their time in school and studies, they lack exposure to cultural events which limits their knowledge on the matter.

To familiarize young students with the arts and culture of their respective States, the Sangeet Academy Kakching organised today's cultural awareness programme upon the direction of the Ministry of Culture.

A similar programme was organised yesterday at Kakching Sumak Leikai Panjao Upper Primary School.
