Reconsolidation Month: UPF pays tribute, holds discussion

As part of United Peoples' Front's ongoing observation of National Reconsolidation Month, floral tributes were offered before the bust of Paona Brajabashi at Abhoynagar in Agartala, Tripura today.
Later, a discussion on Seven Years Devastation and National Reconsolidation was conducted at Iputhou Puthiba Shanglen, Tripura with Puthiba Welfare and Cultural Society and people of the Meetei community.
The gathering also chanted the slogans - "Long live Manipur" and "Eikhoi amuk hanna khuntaklaroisi" .
Speaking on the occasion, Khomdram Ratan, advisor, UPF, Manipur termed it pertinent for people to remember how Meiteis united and defeated the Burmese after the Seven Years Devastation.
Manipur did not get her freedom through charity but by facing the adversary on equal footing, he added.
Commenting on the present situation of Manipur, he termed the lack of unity among people as "shameful" .
As such, UPF has been engaged in uniting/consolidating the Manipuris scattered across different regions through such discussions.
