Imphal, May 27 2025:
Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) student volunteers today locked the offices of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) at Lamphelpat and the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Manipur-Nagaland camp, demanding an apology from Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla over the Gwaltabi incident.
The protesters first headed to the CEO office, leading to a confrontation with security personnel at the gate.
They overpowered the guards and locked the CEO office by securing the collapsible steel shutter.
The protesters then marched to the GSI office and locked it as well.
This move aligns with COCOMI's resolution to shut down Central Government offices in protest against what they see as repeated violations of Manipur's identity and dignity.
