74th death anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat observed

The Jana Neta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam, observed the 74th death anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat at the Irawat Complex, Babupara, Jiribam.
The observance was led by JIMET LifeTime President Dr Chandam Kamal Singh, who offered floral tributes to the statue of Hijam Irawat.
The event was also attended by various Civil Society Organisations and social workers of the district.
The 74th death anniversary of Jana Neta Irawat was also observed at Nambol by the Jana Neta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Nambol.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to the statue of Jana Neta Hijam Irawat at Nambol, and was attended by Konthoujam Assembly Constituency MLA, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh as chief guest; former Union Minister of State, Padmashri Thounaojam Chaoba Singh as functional president; and Nambol Municipal Council chairperson Ch Basant; Chief Advisor of JIMET Nambol, T Ibochou Singh; and Senior Citizen Intellectual Group Kakyai A Babu Singh as guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Dr S Ranjan Singh lauded the commitment of the Trust for organising such events that keep alive the legacy of Hijam Irabot.
He noted that the present generation must learn from Irawat's ideals and sacrifices, adding that the title of Jana Neta was rightfully conferred upon him by the people in recognition of his lifelong service to the society.
Former Minister Th Chaoba also recalled Irabot's immense contributions to social reform and political awakening in Manipur, urging the people to uphold his vision.
