DC Churachandpur visits inundated village, assures continued support

CCpur, July 24 2026: Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Krishna Kumar on Friday visited flood-affected areas of the district to assess the situation and damage caused by flash floods that have been battering the region since Thursday evening.

At Kerith village, which was inundated following the overflowing of the Khuga River, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar extended immediate assistance to affected families.

He later proceeded to L Lhangnomphai village under Tuibong block, where relief assistance was also provided to flood-hit families.

As part of the relief measures, DC Krishna Kumar distributed rice, dal, potatoes, cooking oil, onions and other essential consumable items to the affected families.

Interacting with residents, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that the district administration would continue to closely monitor the situation and extend all possible support.

He also assured that immediate relief assistance would be provided to affected families through the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer.

The DC was accompanied by ADC Seiminthang Lenthang, SDO Churachandpur Thienlaljoy Gangte, SDO Tuibong Jangminlen Lupho and other line department officials.
