Thomas Hardy Memorial Award 2024 to be given to Salam Tomba

Thoubal, September 22 2024: The Thomas Hardy Memorial Award 2024 will be given to Salam Tomba, the writer of the book "Toubul Diary", said Sahitya Yokhat Kanglup (SAYOKA), Tentha.

Salam Tomba hails from Bishnupur's Toubul Awang Leikai, Ward Number 5.He was bom on May 14, 1946 to Salam Ibomcha Singh and Thoudam ningol Salam ongbi Lasami Devi.

He has written 32 books.

He writes short stories, novels, travelogues, radio dramas and songs.

He has as many as 14 awards including Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize 2022 for "Angouba Kei".

Salam Tomba, at present, is president of Quad Writers Moirang.

He will be honoured with the Thomas Hardy Memorial Award 2024 at Multiplex Tentha on the 45 th foundation day of SAYOKA on October 10 .
