Imphal, December 21 2025: As part of the Nayi Chetna 4.0 Campaign, Gender & Social Development Co-ordinating Committee Takhel GP, under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission, successfully organised an awareness programme on "Gender Equality & Women Empowerment" at Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen today.

The programme was attended by Kh Ibomcha, MLA, Lamlai AC; M Ningthem, ex-Pradhan, Takhel GP; Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Meira Paibi leaders, VLF members and locals of the area.

The programme focused on key themes such as recognition of women's domestic and unpaid work as an economic contribution, women's participation in decision-making, and safety & mobility of women.

The programme witnessed encouraging participation and meaningful interactions.

Moreover, the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports (YAS), Government of Manipur, in collaboration with Homeland Security organised a "1-Day Self Defence Training Programme" exclusively for women at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal.

The programme was graced by Mayanglambam Veto, Director, YAS, Manipur; RK Babloo, director, Homeland Security; and renowned actor Hijam Bala as presidium members.

During the event, Rajendro Meitei, former trainer of SPG, gave training on self defence techniques to the participants.
