2nd Kakching Night Plaza draws huge crowd at Kakching Bazar

Kakching, October 20 2025: The second edition of the Kakching Night Plaza was successfully organised at Kakching Bazar under the joint initiative of the Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association (KBBWA), Kakching in collaboration with Nahashinggi Khongthang (NK), Kakching, with support from the District Administration and Kakching Municipal Council.

The inaugural event of the Night Plaza was attended by Wabagai Kendra MLA Dr Usham Deben as chief guest; Kakching Kendra MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar as president; and Superintendent of Police Kakching, Priyadarshini Laishram and KBBWA president Yengkhom Rajendra as guests of honour.

Altogether 90 stalls were set up at the Night Plaza, featuring a vibrant mix of local cuisines and handcrafted products.

Visitors enjoyed traditional food items such as Kakching Bora, Kabok Hingtot, and Soibum along with a range of local delicacies.

Handicraft and handloom items produced by entrepreneurs from Kakching and inmates of Relief Camps were also displayed, showcasing the district's rich artisanal talent.

Speaking in this connection, KBBWA president Y Rajendro stated that the Night Plaza was organised in connection with the upcoming Diwali and Ningol Chakouba festivals.

He emphasized that the Night Plaza aimed to promote local products, including various handicrafts and handloom items, by making them available at affordable prices and contributing to the overall development of Kakching Keithel.
