Rotary Club holds 51st on-spot painting competition for students

Imphal, September 20 2026: The 51st Rotary On-the-Spot Painting Competition 2026, as part of the vocational service of Rotary Club of Imphal, was held today at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.

About 100 students from different schools participated.

The competition was held in two groups - Group-A (Class III-VI) on the theme 'A scenic beauty of Loktak Lake' and Group-B (Class VII to X) on the theme 'Celebrating International Day of Peace, 21st September on the theme Global Peace' .

In Group-A, Khangembam Joy Meitei of Wangkhei High School, Laishram Henthoibi Chanu of Heritage Convent and Sagolsem Purel Mangang of St George High School secured first, second and third positions respectively.

Artemesia Thongram of Little Flower School, Thiyam Roshita Devi of Nirmalabas High School and Moirangthem Lanleima of St Anthony's School won consolation prizes.

In Group-B, Pheedam Sinam of Ramakrishna Mission School, Brikrama Lourembam of The Comprehensive School and Nongmaithem Korounganba of Heritage Convent bagged first, second and third prizes.

Lenison Rajkumar of The Ushus School, Leepun Ningthemcha of Maria Montessori School and Aditya Sinam of Tiny Tot's Unique School won consolation prizes.

Rotary 4-Way Test plaques were presented to two judges.

Later, members of the club visited Poirei Nawakol Children Home, Achanbigei and distributed eatables.

President of Rotary Club of Imphal Dr N Muhindro Singh said the competition is organised every year to create a positive environment for students to showcase artistic abilities.

He thanked schools, teachers, parents and students for their participation.

Prizes will be distributed during the club foundation day.
