5th Youth Conference of LNBA-M begins at Tharon

The 5th Youth Conference of the Liangmai Naga Baptist Association, Manipur (LNBA-M) commenced on Tuesday at Tharon (Thalon) Baptist Church, where it will continue till January 22 .
The three-day conference is being held under the theme "Be the Light", setting an inspirational and spiritually enriching tone for the gathering.
The conference features a wide range of activities showcasing Liangmai youth talent and culture, including cultural programmes, musical performances, a handicraft competition and a poetry contest, among others.

A choral competition has also been organised in two categories, highlighting the community's rich musical heritage.
Prominent speakers at the conference include Rev Ab Maishoungamang, President, LNBA-M; Dr Maisuangdibou Marenmai, Assistant Professor, Department of Theology and Ethics and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Union Biblical Seminary, Pune; and Dr Albert M Chawang, Faculty, North East Christian University (NECU), Dimapur, who will share the gospel message.
Exhortations are being delivered by leaders such as Munhu Awangbow Newmai, MLA of 52-AC; Rev Kasumpou AG, Zonal Youth Secretary, Luangba Zone, RBCC; Kebau Riame, Youth Secretary, ZBCA; and Mathiukungngammang Kamee, Youth Secretary, INBCA, among others.
According to LNBA-M Youth Secretary Kadalungbou Newmai, the conference is expected to draw around 3,000 participants from over 70 churches across Manipur.
He stated that the event aims to empower spiritual growth among the youth, encourage salvation, and promote peace and unity within the community.
The conference's return to Tharon marks a historic occasion, as Tharon Baptist Church is one of the oldest churches in the region, established in 1937.Beyond its spiritual significance, Tharon is also known for its scenic beauty, including Thalon Cave, Chapuang Niuriang, Tatu Malung and several waterfalls, providing a picturesque backdrop for the event.
Meanwhile, the Youth Department of LNBA-M has appealed to all organisations to refrain from imposing bandhs, strikes or any form of disturbance during the conference period to ensure its smooth and peaceful conduct.
