DIC Senapati organises two-day Vendor Development Programme under RAMP scheme

A two-day district-level Vendor Development Programme (VDP) cum exhibition ofprod-ucts under the Raising and Acceleration of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme commenced on Thursday at Mao-Poumai Community Hall, Senapati.
The programme is being organised by the District Industries Centre, Senapati, under the Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur.
The initiative aims to enhance market access for MSMEs, facilitate linkage with PSUs buyers and procurement agencies, support compliance quality and digital onboarding and to promote ODOP and local sector products.
Delivering the keynote address, Rita Misao, General Manager, DIC, Senapati, stated that the Government of India has implemented the RAMP scheme in all districts of Manipur.
She informed that the scheme comprises 18 interventions being undertaken by various departments.
Of these, the Commerce and Industries Department is implementing four key components, including UDYAM drive registration, the Vendor Development Program, a two percent interest subvention for women entrepreneurs, and transport subsidy.
Urging women-owned MSMEs to avail themselves of the benefits, Rita encouraged eligible entrepreneurs to apply for the two percent interest subvention and transport subsidy by obtaining the requisite forms from the DIC Senapati Office.
Speaking as a resource person, Rapi Pao Poumai, Chief Manager, SBI Senapati, spoke on the topic, "Financial Literacy and Access to finance for MSMEs".
He highlighted the essential requirements for availing business loans, including opening an account with SBI, UDYAM registration, possession of a current account, trade license, and an Adhaar-linked mobile number.
He also elaborated on various loan products available for eligible businesspersons and emphasised the importance of financial literacy in business and entrepreneurship.
Another session on "DST, income tax, registration and its benefits and legal compliance" was conducted by Longni John Tao, Chartered Accountant, Tao Consultancy.
This was followed by a session on "E-Commerce on boarding, use of social media for MSMEs" by Lorho Kennedy DIO/DIT, Senapati, during the later part of the programme.
Around 50 participants, including five vendors and UDYAM-registered MSME units, took part in the program on the first day.
