Thang-Ta competition from Mar 28

Imphal, March 18 2026:
Neinasang, a local organisation based in Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, has announced a major "Open Men and Women Thang-Ta Competition", scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29, 2026 .
As per a release issued by Neinasang, the "Thang-Ta Changdamnaba 2026" event aims to promote and develop the indigenous martial art of Manipur.
The competition will be held in the "Real Traditional Warrior Style" at the SAI STC Khuman Lampak in Imphal, in collaboration with Fit India and the Thang-Ta Loisang experts.
The competition is open to all Thang-Ta enthusiasts and will feature the following events, with each participant given 5 to 7 minutes: Sajel Kanglon, Thang Ani Paibagi Lan-Thang Thanghai (dual sword handling), Ta Khousaba (spear handling), Thang Chunggoi Marolgi Lan-Thang Thanghai, and Thanglon Thangyan Thangbi Ayanbagi Paring.
The competition will be held in two stages.
Those who qualify in the first stage will proceed to the second stage, where they must perform a different set of skills from the initial round.
Attractive cash prizes of Rs 20000, Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 will be awarded to the top three winners.
