Kangpokpi, July 14 2025:
In a compassionate and coordinated response to the devastating floods that have wreaked havoc across Manipur, Humanitarian Aid International (HAI), in partnership with People's Resource Development Association (PRDA) Manipur and Start Network, launched a large-scale humanitarian assistance initiative under the Manipur Flood Response -Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Resilience program.
On Monday, the coalition distributed essential relief supplies, including food, non-food, and hygiene kits to 165 severely affected families in Kangpokpi District Headquarters, marking the first phase of aid distribution in the district.
This vital intervention is part of a larger mission targeting 500 flood-affected families across the region.
Earlier, HAI and its partners successfully reached 170 families in Senapati district during the initial phase of their relief efforts.
Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability, the organizers prominently displayed a detailed transparency board at the distribution site.
The board listed approximately 30 types of essential items provided to each beneficiary, including rice, dal, edible oil, sugar, potato, onion, salt, eggs, sanitary napkins, mosquito nets, mosquito coils, soap, handwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other crucial household items - each item meticulously accounted for with its respective quantity and cost.
A complaint box was also installed on-site, empowering beneficiaries to voice any grievances, feedback, or suggestions, thereby ensuring a participatory and transparent distribution process.
HAI and its partners have further announced that the second phase of distribution will soon extend to Saitu and Saikul Assembly Constituencies in Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi district, to reach additional families in dire need.
