134th Patriots' Day solemnly observed across Manipur and beyond

The 134th Patriots' Day was solemnly observed across Manipur and beyond, paying homage to the valiant heroes who laid down their lives during the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891.The day marked a tribute to their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit in defending the sovereignty of Manipur.
KAKCHING
The Kakching District Administration observed the Patriots' Day today remembering the martyrs who laid down their lives during the Anglo-Manipuri War in 1891.The observation function was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Rohit Anand, paid floral tribute to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General, the bravehearts of the soil who made supreme sacrifice while fighting against the British Empire.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to all the bravehearts of the land remembering their valour.
Meanwhile, at Angaan Ching Eco Park Kakching, the day was marked by a tree plantation drive with a minute's silence in honour of the departed souls of 1891 Anglo-Manipuri War.
The gathering also paid floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General.
During the drive, around 150 tree saplings were planted at the western side of AngaanChing with active participation from the volunteers of Arambai Tenggol Unit 26, Kakching; players and staff of Sanjoy Football Coaching Centre, Kakching and members of the Management Committee of Angaan Ching Eco Park Kakching.
The 134th Patriots' Day celebration was also held at Kakching Khunou Bright Career Academy (BCA), Umathel organised by the Federal Students' Organisation (FESOK), Kangleipak.

The event was attended by A Sanjoy Singh, founder of BCA; Sanjit Angomcha, secretary of BCA, S Menglemjao Meitei, Headmaster of BCA; Amarjit Luwang, commander of AT Unit 59; and Surjit Sarangthem, president of FESOK, Kakching.
BISHNUPUR
District Administration Bishnupur, led by Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam, today observed Patriots' Day with solemn tributes and commemorative events.
The ceremony, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Mini Secretariat Complex, was participated by SDOs and District Level Officers (DLOs) .
Pooja Elangbam led the gathering in offering floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General, the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of the motherland.
As part of the observance, "Prabhat Pheri" was organized across Nambol, Bishnupur, and Moirang Sub-Divisions.
Meanwhile, in observance of 134th Patriots' Day, the Raj Medicity Hospital as part of its humanitarian service has initiated the enrolment of Raj Health Wealth Card at the residence of Kumbi Assembly Constituency, MLA Sanasam Premchandra.
The programme, aimed at expanding access to healthcare, marked the second such initiative by the hospital as part of the Patriots' Day commemoration.
The first enrolment drive was held earlier at the Moirang AC MLA office, where more than 200 people registered for the scheme.
Today's event at Kumbi witnessed a similar turnout, with over 200 individuals enrolling for the health cards, underscoring the community's positive response to the initiative.
The 134th Patriots' Day celebration was also marked at Ibudhou Nongpok Ningthou Apanba Apanbi Harao Shanglen, Tronglaobi organised by the Lamjing Meira VLF; Moirang Thamnapokpi organised by the Thamnapokpi Youth Workers' Club; Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute Pre-fabricated house organised by the Meitei Society Churachandpur; and at Thangjing Sindam Shanglen Relief Camp by the Relief Camp Committee.
KAMJONG
District Administration Kamjong also observed Patriots Day at the Deputy Commissioner camp office at 2nd MR Complex, Imphal.
The observance was attended by SDOs of Kasom Khullen and Sahampung subdivisions, Angom Rohini Kumar and Subinson Sapam respectively along with AC to DC Syed Amjad, SDCs and other DLOs.
Addressing the event, AC to DC Amjad conveyed the significance of the day and urged all to remember the grit, valour and patriotism of the heroes who laid down their unwavering spirit so that Manipur could break free from the clutches of oppression.
THOUBAL
The 134th Patriots' Day observation was held widely at different places across Thoubal district today with the main event held at the Election Counting Hall of DC Office Complex, Thoubal.
DC Hannah Kamei led the gathering in offering floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General, who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the motherland.
In her address, DC Hannah Kamei urged the younger generation to emulate the bravery and patriotism of the forefathers who laid down their lives for the motherland stressing the importance of standing united for the country.
As part of the observance, a separate event was organised at Khongjom Kheba Ching by the Khongjom War Memorial Development Committee, where around 500 tree saplings were planted in the surrounding areas of Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the day, a mini marathon titled "Run for Unity & Patriotism" was held at Khangabok organised by the Punminnaba Group Khangabok (a Whatsapp Group).
The race, flagged off from Khongjom War Memorial and ending at Ikop Ningthou Laibung, Khangabok Pt II, saw participation from 79 runners.
Md Rahish Khan secured the 1st place, while L Yohenba and Sinam Romio took the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
The Patriots' Day observance was also held at Waikhom Mani Girls College Thoubal; Lilong Haoreibi College; Wisdom Foundation Khangabok; Sofia School, Thoubal Wangmataba; Chingtham Laikon, Thoubal organised by the ATDUCO in collaboration with SDC; and at Tekcham organised by the TSCO .
CHANDEL
The 134th Patriots' Day also was observed today at the Multipurpose Hall of the Mini Secretariat, DC Complex Chandel organised by the District Administration Chandel, remembering the supreme sacrifice of the brave sons of Manipur.
DC Chandel, Laishram Nandakumar led the gathering in offering floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General, with the personnel of 8th Manipur Rifles giving the gun salute honouring the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the freedom of Manipur.
SENAPATI
Joining the Statewide commemoration, the Senapati District Administration observed the 134th Patriots' Day in remembrance of General Thangal and Bir Tikendrajit Singh at the DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
As part of the programme, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, led the floral tributes to the portraits of Thangal General and Bir Tikendrajit Singh, with the lighting of candles and flower offerings symbolising respect and remembrance.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, Superintendent of Police, Senapati, Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, DFO Senapati, Shanngam S, Adahrii Maheo, Chief Executive Officer/ ADC Senapati, SDOs, DLOs, and its staff.
JIRIBAM
As held in different parts of the state, Jiribam District observed the 134th Patriots' Day on Wednesday at Ningsingkhul Bio-Diversity Park Community Hall, Jiribam.
The observance was organized by the Patriots' Day Organizing Committee, Jiribam.
The observance was attended by DC, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, as chief guest.
Dr Arun Kumar Mangang as president, and Superintendent of Police, Jiribam Senmi Ramror, BM Yaima, acting President FOCS, Elangbam Dewan Singh, president JDO, Kh Janaki Devi, ex-Adhyaksha Jiribam ZP, N Buddhachandra Singh, Social Worker as guests of honour respectively.
Addressing the gathering, Krishna Kumar expressed gratitude and respect for the martyrs, noting that their courage has charted a path for future generations.
He called upon the people to work together in unity for a peacefill, progressive, and prosperous Manipur.
SP Jiribam Senmi Ramror described Aug 13 as a "red letter day" in Manipur's history, urging everyone to uphold the ideals of the fallen heroes.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Jiribam also observed the 134th Patriots' Day on Wednesday at the official Bungalow of DC, Jiribam, fondly remembering Yubraj Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General for their bravery, sacrifice and love of their motherland.
TRIPURA
The 134th Patriots' Day was also observed across the State of Tripura, in remembrance of the brave heroes of Manipur, notably Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General.
The Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura and Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup jointly organised the Patriots' Day observance at Agartala Tarou Meitei Lekai.
The event was attended by Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup, president Kh Prajapti Singha as president and Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, general secretary Khoisnam Mangal as chief guest.
During the event, the gathering paid rich floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General and observed a two-minute silence honouring the martyrs.
The 134th Patriots' Day observation was also held at Gouranagar; Panchasi and at Jalabasa Meitei village.
ASSAM
Manipur Youths' Front of Assam marked the 134 Patriots' Day with a commemorative event at 594 No.Moragang Par LP School, honouring Manipur's legendary freedom fighters.
The event was attended by T Riaj Uddin, Headmaster of the school; Thangjam Brojen, president of MYFA; Sultana Begum; Ashalata Singha; Mira Begum; Sameh Uddin; among others as presidium members.
Speakers at the event recalled the courage and sacrifice of Manipur's patriots, and the historic role of Meitei-Pangal in the Anglo-Manipuri War.
