UNC calls for unified prayer across Naga Churches on May 18

Senapati, May 12 2025: The United Naga Council (UNC) in a fervent appeal has called upon all its constituent units and subordinate bodies to organise a special day of prayer on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in support of the Naga political cause.

The appeal stated to follow a resolution passed during a joint meeting of the Naga Political Groups (NPGs), Tribal Hohos, and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) held on May 6 at Pruzie (Shisha Hoho) in Kohima.

The UNC has urged the churches across the Naga Homeland to hold prayer services through their respective tribal church associations and councils.

"This unified day of prayer aims to seek divine guidance, strength, and blessings for moving forward in unity towards achieving the historical and political rights of the Nagas and lasting peace in Nagalim," stated James Hau, the Information & Publicity Secretary of the UNC.

The UNC has also requested Tribe Hohos and subordinate bodies to coordinate with their apex church councils or associations for immediate implementation of the prayer initiative.

Prayer points prepared by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation have been annexed to the appeal.

Reiterating its longstanding vision for peace and unity, the UNC expressed hope that such spiritual initiative would bring the Naga people closer to their collective aspirations.
