Covid-19 positive woman - traced, advised isolation

Bishnupur district surveillance officer (DSA) Dr H Deni Singh has informed that condition of the woman from Ngaikhong Khullen Ward No 5, who tested positive for Covid-19 is being closely monitored and presently there is no immediate risk.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, Dr Deni said that the patient had been staying in a girls' hostel at Ghari Awang Leikai pursuing master's course in Tourism at Manipur University.
She underwent Covid-19 test at Babina Diagnostics Centre on June 7 and her positive result confirmed on June 9, the same day she left for a study tour to Hyderabad, Telangana.

Initial efforts to contact her on the phone did not materialised, conceded the DSA, while hastening to add contact was eventually established, advised seven-day isolation and to undergo another test after completion of isolation period, he said.
Dr Deni also disclosed about a team visiting her residence and directing her mother and sister, who stayed with her before she left for Hyderabad, to remain under home isolation, while adding that all necessary measures have been taken by the department.
