Convict gets 2 years RI

Imphal, July 10 2025: W Tonen, Judge of Fast Track Special Court Number 2 has sentenced 63-year-old Khoisnam Ibohal to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment under POCSO Act for sexually harassing a minor girl.

Khoisnam Ibohal (63) of Singjamei Thokchom Leikai was convicted on July 8 .

The Court, having heard the arguments from the Special PP, defence counsel, and the convict, and upon reviewing the case documents, sentenced the convict to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment.

The Court also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on Khoisnam Ibohal, with Rs 30,000 to be awarded to the victim as compensation for her mental suffering.

The Court ordered that the time spent by the convict during the investigation would be deducted from the sentence.
