Thoubal, May 09 2026:
The remarkable journey of Ningthoujam Ranjit Singh from Heirok stands as a shining example of how structured training and guidance can transform lives.
Once employed as a labourer in a brick factory and struggling with limited communication skills in Hindi and English, Ranjit aspired to create a better future for himself and his family despite the odds, said a press note issued by IGAR (S).
His aspirations found direction in May, 2024 when he joined the Homeland Security 1st batch, a youth empowerment initiative facilitated by Assam Rifles.
The programme was designed to instil discipline, enhance personality, improve communication skills and provide employment-oriented training to local youth.
Through this initiative, Ranjit gained confidence, developed professional capabilities and acquired the skills necessary to pursue meaningful employment.
The support and mentorship provided during the training proved pivotal in shaping his career path.
With perseverance and dedication, Ranjit successfully completed the programme and continued to refine his abilities.
His hard work culminated in his selection as a Senior Supervisor at British Petroleum, Pune, a role that reflects both his personal determination and the opportunities created through the constructive engagement of Assam Rifles.
Ranjit's achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the transformative potential of youth-focused initiatives that foster resilience, confidence and growth.
