Awareness programme on "Child Protection" held at Heinoukhong village

Thoubal, July 06 2025: An awareness programme on "Child Protection and its related Laws'' was successfully conducted today at Heinoukhong Village, under Machi Block, Tengnoupal district.

The event was organised by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tengnoupal, in collaboration with Tuishiwar Village Level Federation and FORD NGO, as part of the ongoing Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign 2025.The programme aimed to sensitise the local community, stakeholders, and grassroots institutions about critical issues concerning child rights and legal protection frameworks.

Devavrata Sharma, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Tengnoupal, addressed the gathering and appealed to all stakeholders - including village authorities, community leaders, teachers, parents, and youth - to take a more proactive and vigilant role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in the district.

He emphasised that child protection is a shared responsibility and called for stronger community participation in reporting, preventing, and responding to violations against children.
