DEO Jiribam chairs first meeting of DNOs

Jiribam, November 05 2026: District Election Officer (DEO), Jiribam, Arvind Hanglem chaired a meeting of District Nodal Officers (DNOs) of Jiribam district on the role of DNOs in connection with the upcoming General Elections to State Legislative Assembly, 2027 at his office conference hall.

During the meeting, the DEO emphasized that all DNOs must fully understand their roles and efficiently execute their responsibilities in accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.

'DNOs should work in tandem with State Nodal Officers and in close coordination with one another', the DEO stated.

During the meeting various election preparedness related issues including Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), communication, trans portation issues, security arrangement, man-power management, first time voters, and identification of district icons among others were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by Superintendent of Police, Jiribam Prakhar Pandey; ADM/ADC Jiribam Elangbam Amuthoi Khanganba, SDOs, DLOs and others.
