Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata has expressed that culture and sports have the potential to build a bridge of love and understanding among the different communities residing together in the region.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 11th Foundation Day celebration of Sur Musical Institute (SMI) held at the Dharmalaya Community Hall in Nahabam.
Th Satyabrata highlighted the inseparable role of music and art in human life.
He noted that music is a part of everyone's life, regardless of their circumstances, and that even those unfamiliar with music feel the desire to listen or sing.

"Art and culture play a significant role in promoting harmony among the various communities living in the region", he added.
The Speaker also expressed confidence that culture and sports would definitely succeed in building closer ties among the communities, especially given the current crisis and mistrust in Manipur.
Gotimayum Surchandra Sharma, secretary of SMI, explained that the institute was established with the objective of guiding aspiring young artists who love art but are unsure of the path to take.
SMI president G Jayakumar Sharma and Dharmalaya Social Welfare Club treasurer GA Sanatomba Sharma also attended the event as guests of honor.
CPSWA
The Chingu Panganba Social Welfare Association (CPSWA) marked its 26th Annual Foundation Day today with a significant event at the club hall in Phayeng Sabal Leikai.
The celebration, was presided over by the association's president, N Rasanta Kumar Singh, and secretary, A Lekonjas Singh, with all members in attendance.
The event served as a platform for discussing crucial community and State issues, including drug abuse, forest preservation, and the upcoming Census 2027 .
Youth for Change
The Youth for Change, Khurai celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at the residence of its founder, Laitonjam Jayananda, in Khurai Konsam Leikai today.
The event saw the participation of numerous youth representatives from various polling stations within the Khurai Assembly Constituency.
During the event, L Jayananda emphasized the need for personal change as a starting point to bring about significant positive transformations in society.
He highlighted that the organisation was established on April 5, 2024, as a unified platform for like-minded youth in the Khurai area to engage in beneficial social work, offer moral, physical, foster good conduct, and financial support when needed.
Jayananda stated that the organisation has successfully evolved into a non-political entity capable of undertaking initiatives for the benefit of the entire State, not just the Khurai AC.
As part of the event, new executive committee members were selected to work towards the organisation's set goals.
