ANTA Nisa Bandh Cell says attack on police unfortunate, seeks public support in anti-drug efforts

The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) Nisa Bandh Cell, Chandel has termed the October 1 incident at Longja, Chandel where a mob attacked a police convoy as "unfortunate" and "unwanted" .
According to a press statement issued by secretary RD Hringhnim, due to "individual misinterpretation", the movement of the police to nab "some person involved in drug business network" was stopped by some womenfolk and volunteers who attacked and assaulted the police personnel and damaged their vehicles at Longja village.
Under such circumstances, ANTA Nisa Bandh Cell has appealed to all the communities of the district to cooperate in the anti-drug operations to save the future of the youth.
It asserted that such types of unwanted disturbances in anti-drug operations should not be committed in the future.
It further pointed out that though the operation was led by SP, Chandel, the accompanying personnel were mostly local residents of the district who are sincerely working to stop the rise of drug menace in collaboration with the ANTA Nisa Bandh Cell, Chandel.
Saying that supporting anti-drug operations is the collective responsibility of all communities, the press release has informed that the operation will continue in the future.
According to the press release, the ANTA Nisa Bandh Cell, Chandel was set up with the mandate of the people of Chandel in order to save the life of youths in the region from drugs and alcohol abuse as well as intoxicants like tobacco products.
The ANTA Nisa Bandh Cell, Chandel has appealed to all like-minded people in the area to extend maximum help in achieving their goals and to help them bring a healthy and brighter future for their youth.
