Swachhta health camp organised for IDPs at Kwakta Relief Camp

As part of the Swachhta Action Plan 2025-26, a Swachhta Health Camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) was organized today at the Kwakta Sericulture Relief Camp, Bishnupur district.
According to a press note issued by RIMS Imphal, the health camp was organised by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in collaboration with the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC) .
The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, preventive healthcare, and overall wellbeing among the displaced population residing in the relief camp.
Specialist doctors from various departments of RIMS, including Clinical Psychology, Anatomy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Dermatology, Community Medicine, and Ophthalmology, provided medical consultations, conducted basic health checkups, and delivered health education with an emphasis on hygiene practices, sanitation, and prevention of communicable diseases.
A total of 303 beneficiaries availed themselves of the medical services during the health camp, and free medicines were also distributed to the attendees.
The camp also underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around living areas as a preventive measure against communicable diseases.
The initiative reflects RIMS Imphal's continued commitment to community outreach and public health promotion, especially among vulnerable and displaced populations, in alignment with the objectives of the Swachhta Action Plan 2025-26 .
