Boiboi admits hatching his 'kidnapping'

The kidnapping of Moirangthem Boiboi, supervisor of BCL Security Private Limited, on the alleged demand of ' 5 crore from the Aircel company has turned out to be a drama hatched by Boiboi himself in collusion with KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) faction, police said today.
After 10 days, Boiboi returned back home yesterday reporting that he had been released by his captors in a remote place in Churachandpur district yesterday evening.
Under the false impression that the Aircel company was not taking any initiative to seek Boboi's release, villagers of Kumbi, where Boiboi hails from, had even attempted to set ablaze two towers of the mobile phone service provider.
Exposing the hatched kidnapping drama, Bishnupur SP, K Jayentakumar said that following the complaint that Boiboi had been kidnapped by activists of KCP (N), Bishnupur police had conducted a massive search operation with troops of 33 AR and Imphal West Police Commandos at different places.
Information from various sources were also collected to point out the place where he could have been kept by his kidnappers.
Later, their investigation revealed that he was not kidnapped from Moirang area where Boiboi's family and fellow villagers claimed.

Investigators came to know that Boiboi left for Bagdogra via Guwahati by an Indigo flight in the morning of February 11 from where he proceeded to Nepal.
After reaching Kathmandu, he met with Nongdrenkhomba, the leader of a faction of KCP and hatched the kidnapping drama to demand money from the Aircel company.
From there, they contacted their activists in Manipur and ordered them to demand Rs five crore demand from the Aircel company.
N Tomchou (29) of Kumbi and his married elder sister Romabati (32) were used as messengers in the drama.
KCP (Nogdrenkhomba) group had taken ' 25 lakh as ransom for the release of Boiboi.
He came back only after the Aircel authority deposited the amount to a bank account of the faction.
Out of the total amount Boiboi was to receive ' 10 lakh as his commission.
However, Nongdrenkho-mba asked Boiboi to go back home convincing him that the commission amount would be paid after he arrived at Imphal, the SP said.
After confirming the return of Boiboi yesterday, he was called up to the district police HQ where he admitted the hatching of the kidnapping drama.
The SP said Boiboi will be arrested formally adding that Tomchou and Romabati have also been picked up.

Police seized the air ticket which he used to travel from Imphal to Bagdogra via Guwahati.
He will be arrested formally, the SP said, adding that Tomchou and Romabati have also been picked up.
