Imphal, February 23 2011:
The BJP state unit has blasted SPF's spokesperson for making irresponsible remarks alleging that he is talking too much to cover up scams in the government.
Instead of the SPF spokesperson talking too much and hurling baseless charges to the opposition, he should respond to the scam charges that were exposed by the BJP, BJP state unit vice-president, S Tiken said talking to reporters at BJP office, Nityaipat Chuthek today.
He was reacting to a statement given by SPF spokesperson that when Trinamool Congress won a bye-election, opposition parties are celebrating it as if they had conquered the world.
Congress should know that they had lost the Konthoujam bye-election because of their rampant corruption and anti-people policy.
Their doom is nearing, he said.
If the SPF government has the guts, clarify how the Rs 10 crore equipments procured for the state under rural health mission had not reached Imphal and why the tender for buying the equipments were opened in New Delhi instead of in Imphal.
Leave all this aside and clarify only to the corruption charge leveled by the party (BJP) with regard to the controversy surfaced in the award of work for Loktak clean-up project involving Rs.224 crore.
Why they are remaining silent even though the scam has been exposed.
When they remain silent, it proves that some wrongs have been done in the award of the project, Tiken alleged saying that the party has hard evidence to prove the scam.
He said, there were no signs of proper use of the crores of rupees released from the Central government.
Funds have been siphoned off by the Congress led SPF government.
The Rs 224 crore Loktak lake clean-up project awarded to the New Delhi based K Pro Infra Works Private Ltd is one of the projects which BJP is demanding an investigation by an independent powerful agency.
The party is getting ready to table a report on the process at the time of awarding the work and the mode of implementation of the project in the Parliament along with other scams which have surfaced in the state, Tiken said.
He reminded the demand of the BJP that the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Environment should send their teams to assess the ground reality of the project implementation.
Party spokesperson Kshetri Brajamani observed that minister Biren was talking only to please his master.
He had inspected the Takmu water sport complex not to ensure better work but for a work that could be profitable to him.
SPF government is running the government like a business.
BJP will continue to expose SFP government looting the people.
People will realize the truth one day and teach a lesson to them, Brajamani said.
