'Proper infrastructure in schools necessary'

As part of the 'Inauguration Fortnight' to commemorate the first anniversary of the B JP-led Government in the State, Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam along with Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen who is also the MLA of Kangpokpi A/C today inaugurated six schools located in and around the district.
The inaugurated schools were Saraswati Hindi Upper Primary School, Tuijang Part II Upper Primary School, Saikotjang Primary School, Chanmari Primary School, Thonte Primary School and Mokuli Primary School.
The schools were constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Manipur.
Chief guest of the function, Minister Radheshyam said that education is the backbone for progressive and development of the society therefore it is important to have schools with proper infrastructure for better learning and teaching of the children.
He further said that schools are considered as holy places where children from different communities irrespective of caste, creed and religion come to get education.

It is the places where lives of young children are nurtured and shaped, he added.
He appealed to the locals and concerned officials to consider the schools as their own property.
Gracing the occasion as president, Nemcha Kipgen expressed that education sector is one of the most important sectors.
She appealed to all concerned to extend cooperation to the Government and consider the newly inaugurated school buildings as their own assets.
She further drew the attention of all the concerned staffs to carry out their duty wholeheartedly.
The Ministerial team also paid a visit to Keithelmanbi Government High School.
Replying to the memoranda submitted seeking to upgrade the high school to higher secondary level, the Education Minister said that he will consult with the Chief Minister in this regard.
He also assured that he will try to fulfil the dream of Keithelmanbi locals as soon as possible.
He said that once the school is upgraded, students from the nook and corner of the district will be able to receive their higher education.
Deputy Commissioner, Pradeep Chandren, Additional Deputy Commissioner Balkrishna Heisnam, Sub Divisional Officer, Teresa Tangpua, of Kangppkpi District, concerned officials, staffs and students also attended the function.
