An 18-year old boy has been found brutally murdered and abandoned at a Bishnupur district area this morning.
A police source said the lifeless body of Sanjenbam Noinoisana alias German of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai was discovered from an isolated spot along the MalomMekola inter-village road near Malom Terakhong.
The victim's head was found smashed, seemingly by a heavy object.
It is informed that German's father S Choudhury and mother Sanahanbi had passed away some 10 years back and that the youngster went out of his maternal grand-mother Keithellakpam (O) Mikoi Devi's (68) house at Malom Tulihal Makha Leikai yesterday.
He reportedly left the grand-mother's place at dusk.
German was a class IX student of St Savio School, Lamphelpat.
In connection with the death of the boy, police have picked up German's aunt (father's elder sister) Leishangthem Ongbi Dandan Devi (40) along with her husband L Shyam for questioning.
some relatives of the victim told mediapersons that German had been living together with the Leishangthem family at Uripok Tourangbam leikai, after his aunt returned to her maternal home along with her husband and children.
Recounting that relationships between German and his aunt's family was not very cordial and that about a month back the boy was accused of attempting to rape a seven year old girl, the relatives also disclosed that soon after the accusation, German left home to stay at the Uripok Sorbon Thingel residence of another aunt (wife of elder brother of German's father) namely Ningthoujam (N) Sanjenbam (O) Ibemchoubi Devi.
It is further informed that after her husband's untimely demise, Ibemchoubi along with her two children left the Uripok Tourangbam Leikai house and had been living at her maternal home owing to frequent fissures at the former place.
Ibemchoubi further handed over custody of German to his Malom grand-mother on april 5 (2010) .
The victim boy is said to have narrated to his relatives that Dandan (aunt) assured to demarcate his Uripok Tourangbam Leikai land share and hand over the document within April 20 .
Nambol police have registered a case on the matter.
