TYCM meets Deputy CM's nominee to discuss key tribal issues

Imphal, March 30 2026: A team from the Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), Council Headquarters, met with Judy Gachui Shangrei, the nominee of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, today at the Minister's Office in Mantripukhri.

As per a release issued by TYCM, the meeting focused on a range of important issues affecting the tribal communities of Manipur.

Discussions included:

Recruitment to vacant posts in the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills Department, the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), and the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) .

Implementation of schemes under the National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC) in the state.

Measures for strengthening the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST) .

The construction/establishment of MLAs' offices at the respective ST constituency headquarters in Manipur.

The TYCM, led by its president Momo Tantanga, described the meeting as very positive and fruitful.

The Council expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the Deputy CM's office through her nominee, even in the Minister's absence from Imphal.

The TYCM expressed hope that the Deputy CM will continue working for the larger interest of the tribal communities and quickly address these long-pending issues.
