Imphal, July 29 2026: A labourer allegedly stabbed and wounded a 67-year-old man at Khoyathong, under Imphal police station, Imphal West district this morning.

Sources said an alleged dispute over labour charge triggered Pramod (45) to stab Thokchom Ojit Singh (67) with a sharp and pointed iron hook used for lifting heavy sacks.

Pramod works as a labourer and he hails from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, and was staying at Khoyathong Polem Leikai.

Thokchom Ojit Singh is caretaker of Khoyathong crematorium.

Thokchom Ojit Singh was rushed to RIMS Hospital and is out of danger, said sources.

While the accused fled from the scene, police have detained a person who was involved in the confrontation.
